For University of Auckland students logging into BestChoice for the first time.
First
Type your UPI (use lower case letters) into the User Name box.
Type the default password for your course into the Password box.
The default password is given on the coloured course information sheet that is at the front of your folder.
This will work for most people as their UPI will have been on the class lists that were uploaded at the beginning of the term.
If this is not successful,
REGISTER NEW USER choosing University of Auckland as your institution and entering your UPI as your User Name.
Enter a password of your choice.
Be sure to use your university email UPI@ec.auckland.ac.nz as your email address.
This is important because, if you forget your password, your new password will be sent to this email address AND this email address wil NOT go away!
To access email sent to that address use
webmail.ec.auckland.ac.nz).
, and the message "This User Name already exists" comes up,
reset your password by doing the following:
Enter your UPI with no password.
The clue that you entered will appear.
If this does not help, click
Email me a new password.
The password will be emailed to the address specified on the screen.
If this is no longer a valid email address, email Dr Woodgate at
sd.woodgate@auckland.ac.nz, and she can change your email address.
, and you are using a computer outside the university system,
It is possible that the
Privacy settings on your browser are too high. To change these for:
Internet Explorer
Go to
Tools in the menu bar
, Internet Options.
Click on the
Privacy Tab.
Change the Privacy settings to
Medium.
Firefox
Go to
Tools in the menu bar
, Options.
Click on the
Privacy Tab.
Check
Accept Cookies from Sites.
