Synthesis of a part of MK-0476
It is common for chemists to approach the synthesis of a molecule such as MK-0476 by first choosing portions of the molecule as separate synthetic targets. The substituted cyclopropane shown at the bottom of the scheme is one such portion. Synthesis of this target was achieved using the scheme shown below.
