Polyprotic acids

For the titration of a polyprotic acid with OH (for example H2A + OH → HA + H2O):

 

If the major species at equivalence (HA) is capable of acting both as an acid and as a base, the pH of its aqueous solution is independent of concentration and is given by
 

pK1 and pK2 are pKa  for the two conjugate pairs involving HA;
         pK1(H2A/HA) and pK2(HA/A2 –). 
pH = 1/2(pK1 + pK2)
