Simple ate ions

The first step is learning formulae and charges for the ions shown below. 
Each ion is displayed in the periodic table at the place occupied by its central atom (for example, carbonate is at 6, for carbon).
 
  • The name of each of these oxoanions has an -ate suffix.
     
  • Except for nitrate and carbonate that have second row elements as the central atom, these anions have four oxygen atoms.
     
  • Going from left to right for oxoanions having their central element in the same row, the charge decreases even though the number of oxygen atoms stays the same.
