Relating ion concentrations and solubilities

The relationship between the change in concentration of ions as a consequence of dissolution and the solubility of an ionic solid can be summarized using the relationship below.

This relationship is the same as that between amounts in moles of substances in balanced equations used in stoicheiometry problems.

where A, B C and D are substances and
