More detail about the questions/pages in BestChoice

The parts of each question are given in the list below.  They are stored in different places in the BestChoice database and brought together by links created in the BasicQuestion form. 

• the BasicQuestion
• This includes the question text/images/media, the format for the question and the type of answers.
• the answers
• These can be reused for different questions. Each answer has an ID number. These ID numbers are used for faster access to that answer in the database.
• You may have noticed that you can COPY answers. This is handy if you want to change answers slightly for a new question because the copy has a new ID.
• the feedback for each answer
• This is optional but highly recommended. The students really appreciate the feedback feature.
• The same feedback can be reused in other questions. Feedback can also be copied.
• The Hint is also optional.
• A Window is also optional. This is a blob of text/images that may be useful in other contexts and is therefore saved separately from the question. Subwindows and popup windows (useful data, instructions....) may also be inserted using commands available in the formatting editor.

In order to view a question in the BestChoice student version, that question must be linked to a page in a Subtopic (module) - Topic combination. The Topics appear in white in the menu at the left, and the subtopics are in green.

In turn that Subtopic-Topic combination must be linked to a Course.
